We just can't get enough!

We got to spend Sunday with Scott, Amy, Ella, and Cheryl, celebrating Scott's birthday, and we had a really great time. It's always good to see them. We just can't get enough of our niece!! Every time we see her she has grown and is doing something different. She is crawling like crazy. She LOVES her momma and daddy. She's warming up to Uncle Jay. And she's getting into everything. We can't wait to see her grow up! She is absolutely adorable and we love her to pieces!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Day!!!

What a great day we had today! It was all very spur-of-the-moment, but awesome nonetheless.

Yesterday afternoon, while sitting in my office working and listening to Sports Radio 610, I found out that Joe Montana was going to be at Reliant Arena today signing autographs. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't get geeked out about sports stars and autographs... unless it's Joe Montana. I've been a fan of his since I was a little girl (I met him once in an elevator in Cincinnati), and I've always wanted to own an autographed Joe Montana jersey to frame. So, when I got home last night, I did a little research as to what the event was that he was going to be at. Turns out it was a sports memorabilia show, and you have to pay for autographs. I'm not gonna lie, I was hesitant. The price for just a photo with him (no autograph) was $189. It was another $189 to have him sign something up to 11x14, and much more for a helmet or jersey. I decided that I would go and just have my picture taken with him. The opportunity doesn't come around very often.

Mom and dad went with us, as there was also a gun show and a gem show going on at Reliant, so we made a day out of it. Once I was there, I decided I couldn't not get a jersey to have him sign... as I said, the opportunity doesn't come around very often. I also had my picture taken with him, and I'm glad I did both. I hadn't expected to spend that much money, but to me, it was worth it. So I am now the proud owner of a Joe Montana autographed 49ers jersey, and I have a perma smile on my face!

This was me talking to Joe before our $189 photo opp.

Joe after taking photos with fans.

Joe and me after he signed the jersey. Too bad he's looking at my mom's camera and not mine! (Yes, I've seen the photo she took, and he's looking at my camera and me at hers, so there isn't a photo of both of us looking at the same camera.)

 Signed jersey = perma smile!

In addition, Jay sold a gun and bought another one, and ended up with a large wad of cash in his pocket, so it was definitely a great day!

Go Niners! Beat the Giants!!!

Harvest time!

Last year we planted fruit trees in our back yard to complete our spring planting. Today, we picked some of our harvest. So, so, SO excited about this! We had two lemons, a big orange, and a ton of little satsumas. The limes are just starting to sprout, so those will be next. We're going to use the orange and satsumas to make an orange sherbert in my new ice cream maker. Yum!

 Jay makes the first harvest!
 Lemons!
 This will soon become sherbert.

Houston Texans. Enough said.

Today was an awesome day for the City of Houston. We have been waiting almost 20 years for this day, and it was tremendous. The Houston Texans won their first playoff game in their first-ever playoff season... A 31-10 win over the Bengals. With our rookie third-string quarterback no less. Andre Johnson was back. Arian Foster had yet another amazing game. It was just awesome all around. I don't know what else to say. Oh wait, yes I do...

Tom Hammond (NBC announcer), WTF?!?!?! How do you not know how to pronounce Matt Shaub's name? Yes, I understand he's not playing. But REALLY?!?! Shoop? Shoob? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

In case you missed it, below is the video of how it went down. Finally, on his third try, he got it right. I'm guessing the producer in the truck was correcting him. As if not being able to play in a playoff game because you have a broken foot wasn't enough, NBC gets your name wrong. Sorry Shaub!!

Congrats to everyone in the Houston Texans organization, and to the fans in the city of Houston. GO TEXANS!!!

Texans Friday!!

In case you've been living under a rock, the Houston Texans are in the playoffs for the first time in team history. We haven't had playoff football in Houston since 1993, so the city is jacked up to say the least. I can't wait until 3:30 tomorrow when kick off at Reliant Stadium happens.

In honor of the playoffs, we wore our Texans gear today at the office. Our safety specialist, Hollie Fulsom, @hollscupcake for those of you that do the Twitter thing, baked a gorgeous Texans cake for all of us to enjoy. But before she cut into it, she took a picture and posted it on our local ABC affiliate website. And, they posted it! Yay for Hollie!

Here's Hollie with the cake. And here's the cake. Plus, it was yummy, too!!

Here's to a Texans win tomorrow over the Bengals. GO TEXANS!!!!
