MARCH MADNESS

I love this time of year. It's March Madness. There isn't much better. Have you filled out your bracket? Duke screwed mine up for me on Saturday, as I had them in the championship game falling to UNC, but they lost to West Virginia, so I'm kinda screwed. The South regional is coming to Houston this weekend, and that is very exciting. I'll be working the regional that features Memphis, Texas, Michigan State and Stanford. Should be exciting!

SPRING is here!

Ok, well not quite yet. But as we all sleep tonight, Spring will come, and that makes me very happy. I love Springtime on the Island. Everyone is out and about in their golf carts (including us!), walking their dogs, hanging out... just being outside. And, because Spring is here, it means warmer weather is upon us, and Summer isn't too far. And that means the boat! Whoo-hoo!

Spring Break!

Ok, so I'm so excited to have a week off of work for Spring Break. I haven't had a Spring Break since I was in college myself. That's what I love about working in education. Whoo-hoo!

Kilgore, Texas

So, here I am in Kilgore, Texas. Ever been here? Me either. But now I can check it off my list.

No, I'm not here to try out to be a Rangerette (much to some of y'alls dismay), but I will go to the Rangerette Museum and Showcase (www.rangerette.com). For those of you not familiar with what I am talking about, the Rangerettes are a drill team started at Kilgore College that dates back to, well, I'm not sure when it dates back to (that's why I'm going to the museum), but they've been around for awhile. That's about all I really know about them. Oh yea, and they're known for their high kick lines. Second best to the Rockettes.

There is a Wal-Mart and Chili's here in Kilgore... not sure what that means, exactly, but it gave me something to do tonight. Tomorrow, maybe a road trip (12 miles) north to Longview, that is, if the guys win. If not, it's on the road again on US 59 headed South to HOME!

First-time blogger

So, this is my first attempt at blogging. I just created this site, so it's a work in progress... please bear with me. Why did I create this blog? Mainly because everyone I know has a blog, and it's kinda cool, so I thought "why not me?" The name comes from a word I've used since I was in college, so it only makes sense. I think I'll write about mostly random stuf that comes to mind at random times, or every now and then I might have something profound to say.
With that in mind, today was a primary voting day in Texas. I hope everyone exercised their right to vote. That is one thing that is so great about our country. I don't care who you voted for (ok, maybe I do a little), but you can't complain if you don't vote, so if you didn't get out to vote... Shame on you! If you did vote... way to go!
That's it for today. Stay tuned and enjoy!
