Did y'all wear your boots and spurs today? I did! Well, ok, maybe not my spurs, but I did wear my boots. I really wanted to wear my cowgirl hat, too, but I restrained. I love Texas! Where else can you be driving to work and get caught behind a trail ride? Only in Houston, baby! Yep, that happened to me just the other day on my way to work, and I didn't mind one bit. It's only a few days out of the year, and only in Houston. It means that Cook Off is here and Rodeo is right around the corner. I love it!
On another note... Jay and I had our first date seven years ago today. It was freezing cold that night (something like 18 degrees) and we went to a place called Boondoggles. Jay ate pizza and I drank beer. Coors Light to be exact. A lot of them. Oh, and I ate his pizza crusts, too. I remember him saying to me something along the lines of, "I do make enough money to buy you dinner." Ha! How times have changed. We went back to Boondoggles tonight for old times sake. No, I didn't have any beers, and yes, I did actually eat. It's amazing to think what we've been through in seven years. I won't even begin to go into it because this would be a very long post, but I know that I wouldn't be the woman I am today if it weren't for him. If we can get through everything we've been through in seven years, we can get through anything. I love you, baby!
Y'all have a great weekend. Be careful if you go to cook off, but have fun!
